Daniel Steele – Founder & President

Dan Steele founded Steele Electric in 2009 with a vision for providing excellence in quality and customer service, while maintaining fairness and transparency in pricing. Under Dan’s leadership, the company grew from a small team to a thriving business with a reputation for honesty, integrity, and hard work. Dan was known for his zero-filter transparency, deep pride in his team, and his love for the company, which he treated like family. He built Steele Electric with a commitment to ensuring that not only his family but also his employees could thrive. Today, Steele Electric continues to honor Dan’s legacy by upholding the values he instilled—honesty, common sense, and a drive to work smarter while always delivering quality.

 

Meet Our Leadership Team

Kim Steele – President

Kim Steele took the helm of Steele Electric following the passing of her husband, Dan Steele. As President, Kim is dedicated to ensuring the company continues to uphold the values and direction it was built upon. Though not involved in day-to-day operations, she works closely with the leadership team to guide the company forward. Kim has been a part of Steele Electric from its inception in 2009, supporting Dan in every step of the journey. Behind the scenes, she contributed to the company’s office operations, marketing, and overall integrity. Kim’s leadership is defined by trust in her team, and a firm commitment to preserving the company’s core values of honesty, integrity, and hard work.

Corey Richards – General Manager, CFO

Corey Richards has been a cornerstone of Steele Electric since joining in 2016, hired by Dan Steele to help grow the business. With 12 years of prior experience in the construction industry, particularly with an HVAC contractor, Corey brought invaluable skills in service, construction, and team dynamics. She has been instrumental in the company’s expansion from 15 to over 45 employees, tripling revenue and upgrading internal processes. Corey’s leadership has helped refine compensation plans, enhance employee benefits, and implement a formal review process. Under her guidance, Steele Electric was ranked the #1 Best Company to Work For in Oregon Business Magazine. She is known for her hands-on approach, accessibility, and genuine care for her team, fostering a workplace focused on engagement, trust, and satisfaction.

Bobby Wormington – Sales Manager

Bobby Wormington, Director of Sales and Marketing at Steele Electric, has been with the company since January 2018. With a knack for reading people and taking calculated risks, Bobby oversees all sales efforts for both the electrical and low-voltage teams. Known for his critical thinking, people skills, and deep commitment to Steele Electric’s culture, Bobby has broadened the company’s project portfolio and strengthened customer relationships. He can often be found deeply immersed in project plans and bids, yet remains consistently available to his team. Collaborative by nature, Bobby leads with humor and honesty, never asking his team to do anything he wouldn’t do himself. A former police officer and Dan Steele’s cousin, Bobby is deeply tied to the Steele family and legacy.

Jason Vanderzanden – Supervising Electrician

Jason Vanderzanden has been a key figure at Steele Electric since 2012, overseeing the electrical division and large-scale projects as the company’s Signing Supervisor. Hired early in the company’s history by Dan Steele, Jason is known for his no-nonsense approach, high standards, and commitment to mentoring the next generation of electricians. He emphasizes professionalism, efficiency, and a willingness to take on any challenge. Jason’s hands-on leadership style and passion for the company’s reputation make him a natural role model for apprentices and journeymen alike.

Josh Reynolds – Field Operations Manager

Josh Reynolds, Field Operations Manager at Steele Electric, has been with the company since 2015. With years of experience as an electrician, Josh brings a depth of knowledge and a hands-on leadership style that is highly valued by his team. Known for his problem-solving skills, patience, and good judgment, Josh leads by example, promoting efficiency and forward-thinking approaches. He is a respected mentor and teacher, consistently voted as Mentor of the Year by his peers, even before stepping into a management role. Josh’s approachable and supportive leadership has earned him widespread admiration within the company.

Matt Cole – Limited Energy Foreman

Matt Cole joined Steele Electric in 2021 to help launch the Technology Services division. With years of experience and a stellar reputation in the industry, Matt has quickly become a favorite among both customers and colleagues. As Limited Energy Foreman and Team Leader, he is known for his hands-on leadership, often working alongside his crew to tackle problems head-on. Matt’s dedication to quality work and managing expectations has made him a natural fit at Steele Electric, and his ability to coach and develop his team has been instrumental in the success of the division.
